1960s–70s Eastern European Embroidered Cotton Folk Blouse

A beautiful 1960s–70s Eastern European folk blouse in soft white cotton cheesecloth, richly embroidered in vivid cobalt blue.

A classic vintage piece with a loose, easy silhouette, gathered neckline and wonderfully full sleeves. Intricate geometric floral embroidery runs vertically down the front and along the sleeves, with particularly elaborate embroidered panels around the upper arms. Tiny blue embroidered motifs are scattered across the back.

The lightweight textured cotton makes this an incredibly versatile piece to wear throughout the year — loose over denim or shorts in summer, tucked into a high-waisted skirt or trousers, or layered beneath a jacket or knit in cooler weather.
