Vintage Late 1970s Adini Indian Cotton Floral Tiered Midi Dress

A beautiful vintage Adini Indian cotton dress from the late 1970s  in a wonderful combination of cobalt blue, soft pink, turquoise and delicate floral prints.

From the collectible Indian clothing label Adini, this is a particularly versatile example of the brand’s signature bohemian designs. Made from lightweight, breathable cotton, the dress features a relaxed, easy silhouette with short sleeves, a pretty notched neckline and a decorative geometric printed placket with little buttons.

The upper section is covered in a delicate all-over floral print, punctuated by larger turquoise and pink flowers, before transitioning into a series of beautifully contrasting printed tiers. The skirt is especially lovely, with rich cobalt-blue panels decorated with pink flowers, botanical motifs and intricate geometric borders. The gathered tiers create wonderful volume and movement towards the hem.

What makes this dress particularly appealing is its versatility. The generous, relaxed cut lends itself to a variety of silhouettes and styling possibilities. Wear it loose for an effortless, flowing look, or cinch it at the waist with a statement belt for a more defined shape.
