Please pay particular attention to the 37 cm / 14.6 in high-hip measurement. This area is quite fitted and was snug even on the EU 36 model, despite the fuller 47 cm measurement lower at the hip. The back zipper allows the dress to be fitted closely through the bodice and upper hip.

A beautiful 1970s white cotton maxi dress in the style of traditional Mexican embroidered dresses, combining colourful floral embroidery with intricate crochet lace and pintuck detailing.

The silhouette is much more fitted than the typically loose and voluminous Mexican wedding dresses of the period, with a shaped bodice and long, gently flared skirt. Bright hand-worked-style flowers in pink, red, cobalt, turquoise and orange are scattered across the white cotton, connected by green stems and leaves.

Wide panels of crochet lace frame the bodice and run vertically down the length of the dress, with further crochet work around the wide neckline, sleeves and hem. Fine pintucks add another layer of texture throughout. The sleeves have a lovely flared shape with alternating cotton and crochet sections.

Closes at the centre back with a nylon zipper and silver-tone metal zip pull.

Unlabelled; fibre content is not stated, but the fabric appears to be cotton. Dating to approximately the 1970s.
