About us

Sehnsucht Collection is the passion project of Emmanuelle Little (Emma), a German-Australian art historian, painter, curator, collector, and mother of three, based in Berlin, Germany.

Growing up in Melbourne, Emma was always drawn to literature, fashion, art, and all things beautiful. Her first vintage pieces—a pair of well-worn red American cowboy boots (still treasured in her collection) and an exquisitely embroidered 1930s stole—were both acquired at age eleven. This early encounter sparked a lifelong passion for vintage that would span continents, decades, and countless wardrobes.

After studying painting, art history, and curatorial practice in Australia and Italy, Emma worked as a painter and managed various vintage fashion boutiques before relocating to Berlin. The city's rich, decadent history captivated her, and she continues to call it home with her husband and three children.

For Emma, whose expertise lies in feminist art history and literature, the garments and objects that have adorned women's bodies throughout history hold profound personal and historical significance. She's fascinated by how these pieces have likely lived longer, more varied lives than those who wore them—and how, by wearing them today, we weave our own stories into their fabric. Vintage fashion offers the ultimate canvas for creating the most unique personal style and authentic self-expression.

Emma is grateful you've discovered this collection and warmly invites you to explore the carefully curated lives of these extraordinary vintage treasures.
