Description

A beautiful 1930s–40s house dress that feels remarkably chic worn today. Cut in lightweight crinkled cotton in a rich burgundy/wine shade, scattered with painterly blue, green, cream and golden-yellow florals.

The dress has a wrap-style construction with a crossover bodice, short sleeves, a softly dropped shoulder and a long sweeping skirt. It fastens and adjusts at the waist with its original fabric ties, creating that wonderfully relaxed, slightly blousy early-vintage silhouette through the bodice. A large patch pocket at the hip completes the classic house-dress construction.

Although originally an everyday garment, this is exactly the kind of early vintage piece that translates beautifully into a modern wardrobe—the wrap shape and flashes of leg make it surprisingly sexy while still feeling effortless. Gorgeous with boots and knitwear through autumn, or simply worn with sandals in warmer weather.
