1930s Printed Silk Velvet Cravat-Style Printed Neckscarf

An exquisite 1930s silk velvet neckerchief, cut on the bias with a gently asymmetrical shape. Printed in rich, saturated tones — deep navy ground with scrolling paisley-style motifs in warm gold, rust and red — giving it that unmistakable late-Art-Deco feel.

The velvet has a beautiful soft pile with depth and movement, catching the light differently as it’s worn. Pieces like this were worn knotted at the neck, tied loosely at the collar, or styled as a headscarf — and it still feels incredibly modern today. Shown styled both as a neckerchief and as a headband, where it looks strikingly contemporary.
