Description
1960s Wool Tweed Two-Piece Skirt Suit with Red Details
A sharply tailored yet playful two-piece suit from the 1960s, made from classic grey wool tweed with very faint individual rainbow pops of different coloured wool, only visible upon close inspection, and vivid bursts of cherry red on the buttons and back buckle. The set includes a structured, sleeveless vest with pointed hem and a matching A-line mini skirt.
Looks like something Mary Quant might have dreamed up for a mod schoolgirl with ambition — part Carnaby Street, part classic British tailoring. This kind of youthful suit became wildly popular in the mid-60s, when young women were embracing shorter hemlines and sharper silhouettes as part of the broader fashion liberation movement.
Pair it with a fitted black polo neck, red tights, and glossy Mary Janes for a full-on mod moment, or wear the pieces separately — the vest with flares, the skirt with boots — for endless vintage styling options.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no flaws noted. Fully lined and beautifully finished.
