A striking Afghan dress from the 1970s, made from crisp cotton in a vivid ultramarine blue and richly decorated with contrasting geometric embroidery. The dress is labelled Kabul Imports. The dress features a softly structured bodice with a deep V neckline, framed by dense embroidery in green, pink and blue tones. The embroidered panel is bordered with woven detailing and echoed through fine vertical embroidery lines running down the skirt, creating balance and movement. The sleeves are gently flared with embroidered cuffs, and the skirt falls to a flattering midi length with a lightly gathered waist.

Condition

Very good vintage condition with light signs of wear consistent with age. There has been some minor splitting within parts of the embroidered panels, which has been carefully and discreetly repaired. The cotton remains strong and vibrant, and the embroidery is otherwise well preserved.

On smaller sizes (EU 36–38) it has a looser, more relaxed fit through the body, while on larger sizes (EU 40–42) it sits more fitted through the bust and waist. The hips are free, allowing ease of movement throughout. A side zip provides structure and helps accommodate different body shapes. Shoulders are slightly dropped by design.
