Crafted from sheer embroidered cotton, this piece exemplifies the refined everyday blouses worn in the early 20th century, designed to be practical, breathable and elegant. The fabric features an all-over small-scale floral and dot embroidery, subtly textured and light-catching, with a softly translucent quality typical of Edwardian lawn and voile cottons.

The blouse is cut with gentle gathers at the shoulders and back yoke, creating a soft, blouson silhouette that was intended to be worn tucked into skirts or high-waisted trousers. A narrow ruffled collar frames the neckline, fastening with a single original metal press stud at the throat, a period-correct detail commonly used at stress points in late Edwardian garments, with simple utilitarian buttons running down the front.
