1970s Afghan Shearling Jacket with Long Yak Trim – Dark Chocolate Brown

An exceptional 1970s Afghan shearling jacket in deep chocolate brown, almost black in certain light, finished with dramatic extra-long yak hair trim and intricate embroidery. This piece is unapologetically theatrical — the elongated creamy yak cuffs and front trim create striking movement and texture, while the dark suede base keeps it grounded and rich.

Designed to be worn open, this jacket has no closures and falls naturally at the front. The silhouette is gently shaped at the waist with a narrow, straight hip line. The contrast between the dark suede and the flowing pale yak trim gives it that unmistakable 70s bohemian glamour — bold, sensual, and highly collectible.

The embroidery is beautifully detailed in a soft cream thread with subtle tinges of blue running through parts of the pattern, adding quiet dimension against the chocolate suede. Motifs frame the front edges, cuffs and hem, with additional embroidery at the back for a balanced finish.

Condition

Good vintage condition. The suede shows natural signs of age including light fading and tonal variation throughout. There are areas of subtle colour inconsistency consistent with vintage suede wear.
