Description

A beautifully structured 1970s denim dress in a sturdy, heavy cotton, made in England. This piece features a striking paneled construction that shapes the body with a flattering, tailored silhouette, drawing in at the waist before falling into a gently flared skirt. The design is elevated by subtle Western-inspired details, particularly the pointed yoke at the back and the sharp V-shaped collar, giving it a slightly utilitarian yet feminine feel.

The denim itself is of exceptional quality — thick, durable and made to last, softening beautifully with wear while retaining its structure. A particularly special detail is the swallow motif at the back, which appears to have been added later, giving the piece a unique, almost one-of-a-kind character reminiscent of vintage tattoo iconography. It adds a sense of individuality and storytelling to an already striking garment.

Finished with metal buttons down the front and practical patch pockets, this is an easy yet statement piece that works across seasons, styled simply or layered.

 

Condition

Very good vintage condition. Structurally excellent with no holes or tears. The denim shows natural, even wear and soft fading consistent with age. The swallow motif at the back appears to be a later addition.
