1970s Handmade Crushed Velvet Harem Pants in Purple

These one-of-a-kind harem trousers were lovingly handmade in the 1970s by their original owner, who described herself as a hippie with a deep obsession for the colour purple—a tone that symbolised individuality, mysticism, and nonconformity throughout the decade.

Made from plush crushed velvet in a rich amethyst shade, the pants have a dramatic balloon-leg silhouette that gathers at the ankles with sweet little plastic flower buttons—an especially charming touch from their maker.

The waistline is cut in a flattering V shape at the front, elongating the torso and adding a subtly theatrical feel. The high-rise cut hugs the waist and hips before flowing into full, relaxed legs—perfect for dancing barefoot at dusk or pairing with your favourite cropped top.
