1970s Nepalese Silver Lotus Hoop Earrings

A beautifully sculptural pair of vintage hoop earrings, originating from Nepal and dating to the 1970s. These statement hoops are crafted from hollow silver, allowing for an impressive scale while remaining lightweight and comfortable to wear.

The exterior is richly decorated with repoussé floral motifs, most notably lotus flowers — a powerful symbol throughout South Asian and Himalayan cultures, representing purity, rebirth, and spiritual awakening. The surface shows gentle oxidation and patina, enhancing the depth of the relief and highlighting the hand-worked details.

While unmarked, the earrings are non-magnetic and display the characteristic colour, weight, and tarnish of silver. They have not been polished in order to preserve their original surface and age-earned patina, but could be gently polished if a brighter finish is preferred.
