1970s Royal Amethyst Suede Jacket with Dagger Collar

An absolutely striking 1970s suede jacket in the richest royal amethyst violet. The colour sits between deep royal purple and saturated plum, with a luminous blue undertone that gives it incredible depth. In different light it shifts subtly, revealing tonal variations created by the dyed nature of the leather. It is bold yet refined — dramatic but wearable.

Crafted from beautifully soft, supple suede, this piece is unlined, allowing it to drape naturally and move with the body. The leather is not stiff or hardened — it remains flexible and fluid, making it extremely comfortable while maintaining its tailored silhouette. Please note that the jacket is not lined, which adds to its soft and supple wearability but must be taken into account in terms of warmth and fit. 

The cut is quintessentially 1970s, featuring a sharp dagger collar, long lean sleeves, a fitted waist and a gentle flare over the hips. It fastens with a full-length metal zip and comes with a removable matching suede belt, allowing it to be worn cinched or open. Two front patch pockets complete the silhouette.

Condition

Very good vintage condition. The suede remains exceptionally soft. There are minor light surface markings consistent with age and wear, and subtle tonal variation due to the dye process — these are part of the character of natural dyed suede. No holes, no tears, no structural issues. Zipper works perfectly.
