Antique 1920s Beaded Mesh Flapper Dress with Geometric Crystal Embellishment

An exceptional and highly evocative original 1920s flapper dress, crafted from fine stretch mesh typical of the era — a silk or early rayon tulle-like net designed to skim rather than cling to the body. This is a true sheath silhouette of the late Jazz Age, intended to float loosely over the figure, allowing movement and rhythm rather than structure.

The dress is richly adorned on both front and back with intricate black and clear crystal beadwork, combining geometric Art Deco motifs with delicate floral elements. Scattered diamanté-style stones catch the light beautifully, while the lower skirt features striking diamond-shaped panels filled with fine beading, adding depth and visual drama. A high slit at the skirt enhances movement and elongates the line, a bold and modern detail for its time.

Slips over the head and fastens with a single original button at the upper back neckline. Unlined, as intended, and wonderfully light despite the dense embellishment.

Remarkable antique condition. The mesh is fully intact with no holes or tears — extremely rare for a dress of this age and delicacy. There may be the occasional individual loose or missing bead upon close inspection, particularly near stress points, but nothing obvious or visually disruptive.
