Edwardian Swiss Dot Cotton Blouse with Sailor-Collar

A beautifully delicate Edwardian cotton blouse in a soft off-white tone, made from fine semi-sheer Swiss dot cotton. Pieces like this have that unmistakable early 20th century lightness and were originally designed to be worn tucked into high-waisted skirts.

This blouse features a sweet sailor-style collar trimmed with lace at both the front and back, real mother-of-pearl buttons down the front, and softly gathered shoulders leading into long sleeves with narrow ruffled cuffs and press stud closures.

The softly bloused body is loose through the torso, while the cropped length gives it that very typical Edwardian silhouette. A romantic and wearable antique piece that works beautifully with denim, tailored skirts or layered under knitwear.

Condition

Very good antique condition. There are a few small holes at the back and some thinning of the fabric under the arms at the sleeves. This has been reflected in the price.
