1970s Nepalese Silver & Coral Cuff with Dragon–Serpent Motif

A powerful hand-crafted silver cuff sourced in Nepal in the 1970s. The piece features three large deep-red coral cabochons framed by traditional ropework and granulation. On each side sits an extraordinary repoussé depiction of a dragon biting a serpent — a protective Himalayan motif symbolising strength, guardianship, and the overcoming of harmful forces.

This cuff carries no silver hallmark, which is typical for Nepalese artisan jewellery of this era. It was sourced as silver in the 1970s and feels and behaves like real, weighty silver — dense, cool to the touch, and with a natural, even patina. Priced transparently to reflect the absence of a stamp while acknowledging its high-quality material and craftsmanship.
